Deep Resonance Therapy

Asking for help is a huge first step, one that requires bravery and determination. Thank you for being here.

Monica works from a holistic social perspective, understanding the individual in the context of community. They maintain a critical eye on systemic oppression, and believe in the power of many hands doing the work. Isolation is not a path forward. Collaboration is a beautiful process and Monica hopes that together, combined with your own empowerment, that we can ease your grief and pain to create a life you love.

Career Path: Monica acquired their B.M. as a dual degree in both music theory/composition and piano performance from UNM in 2009. They have taught music in Albuquerque for 23 years, working with all ages and abilities. Over the years, Monica has assessed the needs of their students to go beyond simply learning to play an instrument, to needing support through life stages, working with neurodivergence, ADHD, among other barriers including crisis support through the pandemic. Those observations, combined with their own mental health journey, have prompted the shift into therapeutic practice. Monica received their Master in Social Work from NMHU in 2020. During that time, they had the privilege of interning with the Native American Community Academy as well as The SouthWest Organizing Project. Both experiences were integral in forming their commitment to healing and social justice.
